Origin Story
In 2015, Steve Weatherly founded Venn Interactive after leaving his career in the video game industry. Stupid Simple started from his frustration with the other diet apps: “you couldn’t trust the food data to be accurate, there were ads everywhere, and it took too long to log foods.” We reimagined how a food tracking app could work, with whole, healthy foods right in front of you to inspire you.
The first version of Stupid Simple Keto, was one of the very first apps to help people track a keto diet. Stupid Simple Macro Tracker quickly followed, expanding on the concepts originally built for a low-carb diet with tracking all of your macros in a simple, easy-to-use format. We were the first to use icons that let you quickly spot the foods you want to log and show you where you’re at for the day right on the main screen. The format was a breath of fresh air and gradually became more and more popular as we received feedback from users who loved the simple format.
More than 10 years later, we’re still going strong and have helped millions of people hit their nutrition goals over the years.
Core Beliefs
-
The customer always comes first
We make all of our decisions with you in mind. We don’t let ads get in the way of your tracking experience, even if it means we make less money from free users.
-
Your data is yours
We never sell or share your data. Even ads in the free version can’t track your device ID. When you delete your data, it’s gone immediately.
-
Science-Based Everything
All foods in our proprietary database come from reliable sources like the USDA, manufacturers, or carefully validated user entries.
-
Keep things affordable
With a small team, our own servers, and our own food database, we avoid third-party costs and keep nutrition tracking accessible.
-
We’re always here for you.
Our dedicated customer service team is staffed with National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified diet coaches ready to help.
